TGW visit

Biol 1413 General Zoology Dr. Kannan;s class had a visit by the Texas Game Warden on April 12th. They provided information on game rules and regulations on hunting season to regulate the hunting of animals.


Voting is on!

Eagle Pass Campus had their voting for Mr. and Ms. SWTJC last week. Students took advantage of the voting the winner will be announced on Tuesday at the Palm's Fest in Uvalde. Good Luck to all the Candidates!

Spring Fest 2011

SWTJC Eagle Pass Campus held their 3rd Annual Spring Fest on April 14th sponsored by the Student Activities. Clubs that participated SOG, SPS, PTK, Chem Squad as well as special guests from Lety's Dance studio and Sam Houston Elem. More pics


PTK Trip

SWTJC Eagle Pass Campus Phi Theta Kappa members took a trip to Seattle, Washington on April 14th - April 17th to the 2011 International Convention for the C4 Community College Completion Corps.

Special Guest

SWTJC Biol 1413 had a guest speaker Mrs. Helen Peters, of Peters Runnels Feed Yards. Mrs. Peters gave a presentation on "Texas cattle feeders association providing the details of inside cattle feeding country."

Field Trip

SWTJC Eagle Pass Biol 2421 Microbiology for Science Majors had a field trip to the city of Eagle Pass Waste Water Collection System and Treatment Plant (CEPWW) in Eagle Pass, to learn about the "process of Bioremediation" of raw sewage from the public utilities, "Reclamation" and "Reclaimed water recycling" on April 20th.

Chem Squad Sale

SWTJC Eagle Pass Chem Squad had a tostada sale on April 20th from 12 noon to 2pm in C building to raise money for their end of year trip.

Field Trip to CEPWWP

SWTJC BIOL 2421-Microbiology for Science Majors took a field trip to the City of Eagle Pass water works Plant (CEPWWP) to learn about the "pre-treatment processes" to decontaminate the untreated Rio Grande river water prior to the release for public consumption on April 27th 2011at 6pm.

Guest Speaker

SWTJC Biol 2421 class had a guest speaker Dr. Juan Martinez, Pharm.D, the Director  and Chief of Pharmacy in Fort Duncan regional Medical Center, Eagle Pass on May 2nd. Dr. Martinez gave a detailed presentation on the impact of "Multi Drug Resistance and Its Impact on the public Health and incidence of Infectious disease in United States and around the World.
