BFC Nacho Sale!!!

SWTJC Ballet Folklorico Club were selling Nachos on Sept. 1st at noon in C building the activity was to raise funds for a course in Ballet Folklorico Chihuahua. Pictured are members of the BFC.

 

Student Success Center

SWTJC Student Success Center is located in C building next to the library pictured above and below. The center provides tutoring services in Math, Science, English, History and many more, as well as Counseling, advising, study skills and computers for your every need. All of these services are provided through the Title V & Camse Initiative. For more information please stop by and visit the center Monday - Thursday 9am - 6pm, Friday 8am -4pm and speak with Claudia Valdez Student Success Coordinator.

The Writing Center

SWTJC is pleased to offer a writing center in conjunction with RGC in D-129 Sul Ross Building. The center provides assistance in writing with organization, documentation, structure, usage, mechanics, thesis, development, APA, MLA formats. For more information please stop by to schedule an appointment. The center is open Mon, Tues, Thur: 9am to 7:30pm, Wed. 9am to 6pm and Fri. 9am - 4pm. Welcome Back!

SWTJC Eagle Pass Campus had their Welcome Back on Tuesday Sept. 14th @ 11am in the students activities area hosted by the Student Activities Board. Students were treated to hotdogs, chips and cokes!!!! Hope all of you have a great semester!!! More pics

 

Celebration "El Grito"!

SWTJC Eagle Pass Campus Ballet Folklorico participated in the Celebration of the Sept 15th  " El Grito"  La Independencia de Mexico at the Plaza San Juan on Wednesday @ 6pm. UTSA

SWTJC Eagle Pass Campus had recruiter Mr. Edward Ortega Transfer Specialist form the University of Texas at San Antonio on Monday Sept. 20th form 9am to 3pm in C Building giving out information about the UTSA Campus.

Student Rally'10

SWTJC Eagle Pass Campus had their Student Rally for the fall semester where all the clubs came out to recruit more students. The Rally was held in C building at 11am on Sept 23rd all the clubs had goodies and refreshments for the students to enjoy. Some of the clubs that participated were Chem Squad, PTK, Student Success Center (SPS), School of Government (SOG), and Student Government Association (SGA). BFC Workshop

September 24-26, 2010 Ballet Folklorico-Eagle Pass welcomed Alonso Romero who conducted a workshop on the State of Chihuahua and Nayarit.  Alonso Romero graduated from “Escuela Superior de Danza Folklorica” in Chuhuahua and has been dancing/performing worldwide for 25 years.  He is currently employed by the State of Chihuahua under the Department of Education and Culture.  For more information visit www.balletfolkloricochihuahua.blogspot.com.  Ballet Folklorico members made this possible by fundraising and soliciting for donations to various agencies and local businesses.  We extend our gratitude to Willow Creek Adult Day Care, Consulado de Mexico for their generous contribution and Rudy Heredia, Commissioner Precinct 2, for allowing Ballet Folklorico to use his facilities (Nick Carr Center) during the workshop. 

Enrollment update

Dean of Admissions and Student Services Joe Barker updates faculty and staff in Eagle Pass on the record enrollment of 6,293 students this fall at SWTJC. Barker's comments came during the Dean's Forum held in Eagle Pass on Sept. 28.  more pics

SPS Fundraiser

Eagle Pass SWTJC Society of Physics Students had a fundraiser of chili dogs and Frito pie on Sept. 29 - Sept 30 at 11am to 2pm to raise money for their Physics State Meeting this October 2010 in San Antonio.
