The College Navigator is a prospective student information tool about postsecondary institutions in the United States provided by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). The College Navigator consists primarily of the latest data from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS), the core postsecondary education data collection program for NCES. Data contains undergraduate information on programs and degrees awarded, retention, and graduation rates, price of attendance, available aid, campus safety reports and accreditation information.

THECB Transfer Student Report  - Academic Performance of 2-Year College Transfer Students at Texas Public Universities.  Texas Education Code 51.403 requires that "postsecondary ins

titutions shall report student performance during the first year enrolled after graduation from high school to the high school or junior college last attended. This report shall include, but not be limited to, appropriate student test scores, a description of developmental courses required, and the student's grade point average." The report reflects the performance of community college students in the first year after they transferred to a 4-year institution, including the persistence in the second year of study.

THECB - Texas Higher Education Accountability System -  The Higher Education Accountability System is used to track performance on critical measures that exemplify higher education institutions' missions. The System is modeled on the state's higher education plan, Closing the Gaps by 2015. Its major focus is on the four Closing the Gaps target areas of participation, success, excellence and research.

TEA - Texas Education Agency

PEIMS - Public Education Information Management System.  The Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) encompasses all data requested and received by TEA about public education, including student demographic and academic performance, personnel, financial, and organizational information., AEIS Academic Excellence Indicator System,  The Academic Excellence Indicator System (AEIS) pulls together a wide range of information on the performance of students in each school and district in Texas annually. This information is put into the annual AEIS reports, which are available each year in the fall.

 

TPEIR Texas P-16 Public Education Information Resources

The Texas PK-16 Public Education Information Resource (TPEIR) provides stakeholders in public education - including but not limited to administrators, educators, state leadership, researchers, and professional organizations - with ready access to public primary, secondary, and higher education information for purposes of research, planning, policy development, and decision-making.  TPEIR provides researchers with longitudinal student graduation, teacher employment and certification, and higher education enrollment and graduation counts. This data may be helpful in identifying trends and making intelligent projection and forecasts, and is available at different levels depending on the type and source of data.
