rate.

President’s Welcome
On behalf of the faculty, administration and
staff at Southwest Texas Junior college, I want to welcome you to the
beginning of the fall 2011 semester.
Whether you are a returning student, or are enrolling
with us for the first time, we are proud to have you as part of the
SWTJC family.
As a new semester begins, let me offer you one piece
of advice that I know will make your college experience more meaningful,
enjoyable and, most importantly, successful. Get involved.
Get to know your instructors and make time to visit
with them one-on-one during their office hours. Take advantage of the
tutoring help available through student support services, the writing
center and the student success center. Join a club, play intramural
sports, visit the student activities center, play with our mariachi
group, take part in a study group.
We have an outstanding faculty and staff at Southwest
Texas Junior College and we are dedicated to helping each and every one
of our students succeed. Help yourself succeed this fall by getting
involved.
Let’s have a great semester.
Sincerely,
Dr. Ismael Sosa, Jr.

Time is up;
make payment
arrangements now
SWTJC Dean of Admissions and Student Services
Joe Barker reminds students that they must make payment arrangements as
soon as possible or risk being dropped from fall classes.
"Students can sign up for a payment plan, but it is
their responsibility to get that done," Barker said.
According to Barker, phone messages and e-mail will go
out Wednesday, Aug. 23, to all students who have enrolled in fall
classes but not made payment arrangements.
"The bottom line is that students need to make
arrangements or they will be expected to pay in full or be dropped from
classes," Barker said.
To set up a payment plan, or to pay in full, visit the
Flores Student Services Building in Uvalde or the main administration
building in Del Rio, Eagle Pass and Crystal City.
